Hog Hunting FAQs at Dos Plumas Ranch

When you come to hunt at Dos Plumas Ranch, make sure to bring your weapon of choice and bug repellent, especially during certain times of the year. Wear brush pants for spotting and stalking. Bring trash bags and coolers for transporting your meat, along with drinking water. You’ll also need to bring your own food and spices, although we provide a full kitchen for your convenience. Please remember to wash the dishes before leaving. Towels and linens are provided for our guests.
Our hog hunting ranch spans 625 acres of prime Texas hunting property. The ranch’s terrain includes elevation, providing an ideal environment for hunting wild hogs and rams. While we have other properties for whitetail deer and turkey hunts, they are not contiguous, allowing us to avoid pressuring the animals.
No, we are proud to have no trophy or kill fees and absolutely no surprise costs. We want you to focus on enjoying your hunt without worrying about additional expenses.
View our hunt calendar on our website to check for available dates, then give us a call at (325) 665-9450 to schedule your hunt. A 50% deposit with a Mastercard, Visa, or personal check is required to reserve your hunt.
Unfortunately, deposits for hog hunts are non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel, contact us at least 21 days prior to your hunt, and we’ll do our best to reschedule within the calendar year. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to your scheduled hunt will result in full charges.
Yes, children under 18 can hunt on our ranch, accompanied by a licensed adult. We welcome families and strive to provide a memorable hunting experience for children.
The Abilene airport is conveniently located just 30 miles away from the ranch.
Yes, we offer skinning and quartering services for a fee, or you can use our skinning facility and walk-in cooler free of charge.
No license is required to hunt hogs in Texas. However, if you plan to hunt rams, you’ll need a nonresident 5-day license. Active duty military can obtain a free hunting license in Texas.
